# What happened to Speedway?

> Speedway, our standalone site monitoring product, has been merged back into Loadster. Its monitoring capabilities now live in Site & API Monitoring.

Speedway was our standalone site monitoring product, built on the same infrastructure and scripting capabilities as
Loadster. It has since been merged back into Loadster, and all of its monitoring capabilities now live in
[Loadster Site & API Monitoring](https://loadster.com/use-cases/site-and-api-monitoring/).

For a while we offered the two side by side, with Speedway specializing in monitoring while Loadster covered load
testing. In 2024 we rolled all the monitoring capabilities into Loadster, and rather than maintaining two overlapping
products, we've now retired Speedway entirely. Monitoring in Loadster does everything Speedway did: scheduled
[synthetic monitoring](https://loadster.com/guides/synthetic-monitoring/) with Protocol Bots, Browser Bots, or Playwright scripts, from
multiple locations around the world, with incidents, alerting, and hosted status pages.

If you were a Speedway customer, your monitors have a home in Loadster, and your scripts work the same way since both
