ChatGPT and Codex Plugins

Loadster is an official plugin in the ChatGPT and Codex directories. Install it from the plugin list, approve the connection in your browser, and the assistant works in your Loadster account. The plugin includes skills that walk it through building a load test, reading results, and checking the connection.

If you don’t have a Loadster account yet, you can sign up in the middle of connecting and come back to the approval screen, instead of dropping out of the flow. On a ChatGPT Business or Enterprise workspace, an admin may need to make the plugin available before you can install it.

OAuth is the usual way to connect. After you approve a client, it shows up under Settings → API & Agents → MCP Connections, where you can revoke it. Tools that can’t do OAuth still use a personal access token. Claude Code can install the Loadster plugin from the public repository, and the server is listed in the MCP Registry. The AI Assistants page has the steps for each client.

Public REST API and Personal Access Tokens

There’s a public REST API now, described by an OpenAPI spec at https://api.loadster.com/openapi.json. Import it into Postman or another client, or call it from your own scripts, to work with projects, scripts, scenarios, datasets, monitors, and load test results. The spec covers the endpoints we support for outside callers. Other dashboard endpoints can change without notice.

Create a token under Settings → API & Agents → Personal Access Tokens. It acts as you within that team, and it’s shown only once. The same token also connects to the Loadster MCP server. It can’t change your password, billing, or team members.

A token you already created for an AI assistant keeps working, and it can call the public API too. Launching a load test from CI with a scenario trigger URL is unchanged, and still doesn’t need a token.

Status Page Branding

Status pages can wear your own branding when your plan includes it. You can upload a logo and favicon, set a brand color for the header, and hide the “Powered by Loadster” footer. Loadster hosts the images with the page, so they keep showing even when your own site is down.

How many status pages you can have depends on your plan. If you already have more than your plan allows, you can keep and edit them, but you can’t add another until you’re under the limit.

Two-Factor Authentication on Social Sign-In

Signing in with Google, GitHub, or Microsoft now asks for your authenticator code when the account has TOTP two-factor authentication turned on. Those providers used to skip the code. SAML sign-in still trusts your identity provider and doesn’t ask for a second code.

Other Improvements & Bug Fixes

  • A bot group’s custom hosts file now applies to Playwright scripts, the same way it already did for Browser Bots.
  • A Playwright script that sets ignoreHTTPSErrors itself keeps that choice when Ignore HTTPS errors during playback is off in project settings.
  • Browser and Playwright scripts allow the Storage Access API, so a site that calls requestStorageAccess (often a third-party login or an embedded widget) is no longer denied that permission. Firefox in Browser Bots is unchanged.
  • The Playwright editor recognizes @loadster/bot, so that import no longer shows a false error underline.
  • Bot group names longer than 60 characters are refused with a message that names the group, and the name field stops at 60, instead of failing the launch with a bare error.
  • When a load test can’t launch because of a configuration or plan limit, the dashboard shows the actual reason instead of a generic “Unable to run test!”.
  • Shift-clicking from an earlier step to a later one in the script editor selects the range again.
  • Demoting a team admin only removes that role on the current team, instead of every team they belong to.
  • Changing your password or login email asks for your current password when the account has one. Accounts that have never set a password can still set one.
  • New accounts created with Google, GitHub, or Microsoft confirm your name and team name before you land in the dashboard.
  • The public status page header no longer overflows on a phone.
