Synthetic monitoring pricing
Monitoring plans are for teams that only need synthetic monitoring, without load testing. Watch your site or API around the clock with real browsers, Playwright scripts, or HTTP checks, and get alerted the moment something breaks.
Monitoring Starter
- 10 monitors
- Checks as often as every 10 minutes
- 50 SMS and phone alerts a month
Monitoring Plus
- 25 monitors
- Checks as often as every 5 minutes
- 100 SMS and phone alerts a month
Monitoring Pro
- 50 monitors
- Checks as often as every minute
- 250 SMS and phone alerts a month
Every monitoring plan includes
The plans differ in how many monitors you run, how often they check, and how many phone alerts you get. Everything else is the same on every plan.
Real browsers, Playwright, or HTTP
Monitor a full user flow in a real browser, run your existing Playwright scripts, or check APIs and pages with lightweight Protocol Bots. The same scripts work for load testing.
Performance thresholds
Fail a check when response time, time to first byte, or Core Web Vitals like LCP and CLS drift past the limits you set, not just when the site goes down.
Alerts where your team works
Email, SMS, and phone alerts, plus PagerDuty, Opsgenie, VictorOps, Slack, and webhooks. Notification policies decide who hears about what.
Maintenance windows and status pages
Pause monitors and mute alerts during planned maintenance, and share uptime with your users on a public status page.
Other ways to pay for monitoring
A monitoring plan isn't the only option, and it isn't always the cheapest one.
Pay as you go with Loadster Fuel
Without a plan, each monitor cycle burns a tiny bit of fuel. A few monitors that check every few minutes often cost less than a plan. See how much fuel monitors use.
Monitoring included with Loadster Team
If you load test too, the Loadster Team plan includes monitoring, SMS and phone alerts, and branded status pages along with load testing, for one flat price.
Monitoring pricing FAQs
-
What happens if we go over our monitoring plan's limits?
Your monitors keep running. Monitors beyond your plan's monitor count, or checking more often than your plan allows, burn a little pay-as-you-go fuel instead. If you're out of fuel, those extra monitors pause until you add fuel or upgrade.
-
Which kinds of monitors can we run on a monitoring plan?
All of them. A monitor can run a Browser Bot script in a real browser, a Playwright script, or a Protocol Bot script that sends HTTP requests. Every plan supports all three.
-
Should we get a monitoring plan or the Team plan?
If you only need monitoring, a monitoring plan costs much less. If you also load test regularly, the Team plan covers both, along with team features like single sign-on and an audit log.
-
Is a monitoring plan cheaper than paying with fuel?
It depends on how many monitors you run and how often. A handful of monitors that check every few minutes can be cheaper on fuel, while lots of monitors or frequent browser checks usually come out ahead on a plan. The fuel page has examples of how much fuel monitors use.
-
Can we switch monitoring plans or cancel anytime?
Yes. Upgrades take effect right away, with a prorated credit for the unused time on your current plan. Downgrades take effect at the end of the billing period, and cancelling stops the next renewal.
-
Can we monitor sites on our private network?
Yes. Run a self-hosted Loadster engine inside your network and use it as a monitoring location, alongside or instead of Loadster's own locations.
